Historicus Maarten Prak reflecteert in dit essay op zijn bijdrage aan een episode van Het verhaal van Nederland. Hij vergelijkt zijn indrukken van deze serie met de opzet, doelstellingen en receptie van eerdere televisiereeksen over Nederlandse geschiedenis waarbij hij eveneens als expert betrokken was.
In this essay historian Maarten Prak discusses his contribution to an episode of The story of the Netherlands. He compares his experience of the 2022 series with the outline, ambitions and reception of previous television series on Dutch history in which he took part as an expert.
