On Friday 8 November 2013 the Royal Netherlands Historical Society (rnhs) in cooperation with the Vereniging voor Vrouwen- en Gendergeschiedenis (vvg) held its annual Autumn Congress, this time dedicated to Women 1813-1913-2013. One hundred years ago women’s organizations held a vast exhibition in recognition of the first centenary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. At the second centenary, the rnhs and the vvg took the opportunity to review the position of women in the Netherlands in the last century. This special issue features a selection of the lectures delivered that day.
Vrijdag 8 november 2013 was het jaarlijkse Najaarscongres van het Koninklijk Nederlands Historisch Genootschap (knhg), in samenwerking met de Vereniging voor Vrouwen- en Gendergeschiedenis (vvg), gewijd aan ‘De Vrouw 1813-1913-2013’. Vrouwenorganisaties organiseerden honderd jaar geleden ter gelegenheid van het eerste eeuwfeest van het
Koninkrijk der Nederlanden een omvangrijke tentoonstelling. Ter gelegenheid van het tweede eeuwfeest maakten het knhg en de vvg de balans op van de positie van vrouwen in Nederland in de afgelopen honderd jaar. Dit themanummer bevat een selectie uit die dag gehouden lezingen.
